Freedom High School graduate Zyan Collins scored 16 points in California University of Pennsylvania's 81-64 win over Kutztown on Jan. 2 to surpass 1,000 points in his collegiate career.
Collins is the 34th player in Cal U program history to reach the scoring milestone. The junior guard scored a career-high 34 points earlier this season.
A second-team All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference selection as a sophomore, Collins is averaging 18 points, six rebounds and three assists per game during his junior season.
Cal U (8-3) will host Indiana University of Pennsylvania in PSAC West action Jan. 5.
