FHS_PFHS boys hoops

Following wins in the VHSL Class 5 state quarterfinals Friday, Potomac Falls and Freedom will meet for the fifth time this season Monday in the state semifinals at Rock Ridge High School. Potomac Falls won both regular-season games, while the Potomac District teams have split their two postseason meetings.--Times-Mirror/Doug Stroud

Potomac Falls and Freedom advanced to the VHSL Class 5 boys' basketball semifinals, while Freedom earned a spot in the Class 5 girls' semifinals. All three teams won state quarterfinals games Friday night.

Stellar seasons for Riverside (boys) and Loudoun Valley (boys and girls) concluded in the VHSL Class 4 state basketball quarterfinals Friday.

In club-based high school hockey at the Ashburn Ice House, a combination team representing Rock Ridge and Heritage cruised to victory in the Northern Virginia Scholastic Hockey League provisional championship game.

Langley doubled up Briar Woods in the NVSHL pure championship game, also at the Ashburn Ice House.
