The Virginia High School League have updated the National Guard Cup standings following the winter season of the 2022-2023 academic year.
Independence High School leads all Loudoun schools with 207.5 points, good for fourth place in the Class 5 standings. Tuscarora is eighth in Class 4 with 140 points.
The Cup, presented by the Virginia Army National Guard, was first awarded in 1990. A point system determines the winners in each of the VHSL’s six classifications based on overall performance in state championship competitions.
George Wythe (Class 1), Glenvar (Class 2), Maggie Walker (Class 3), Western Albemarle (Class 4), Deep Run (Class 5) and James Robinson (Class 6) each lead their respective classification following the fall and winter seasons.
Overall, 10 Loudoun schools have earned points leading into the spring season.
