HHS football runout

The Heritage Pride rolled past James Wood 32-6 in the quarterfinal round of the Region 4C football playoffs Nov. 12 in Leesburg.

Broad Run, Heritage, Stone Bridge and Tuscarora each won first-round games in the regional football playoffs Friday night, while Loudoun County advanced to the semifinals in the Virginia Class 4 state volleyball tournament.

Stone Bridge defeated Independence for a second straight week to earn a spot in the Region 5D football semifinals. The No. 1 seed Bulldogs have won 20 consecutive games.

Dulles District teams Broad Run, Heritage and Tuscarora combined to go 3-0 against Northwestern District teams in the Region 4C quarterfinals. All three teams secured a spot in the regional semifinals.

Loudoun County defeated Western Albemarle in straight sets Friday to punch its ticket for the Virginia Class 4 volleyball semifinals. The Captains will play in the state semifinals Nov. 16.

Strong seasons for Independence (field hockey, football) and Woodgrove (football) concluded following postseason losses Friday.

Postseason play continues Saturday with two volleyball matches and a football game involving Loudoun teams.
