Samson Sergi scored two goals late in the first half to send Loudoun United FC on its way to a 4-1 victory over Indy Eleven on Wednesday night at Segra Field in Leesburg.
Loudoun (3-14-1, 10 pts.) earned its second home win of the 2021 USL Championship season in dominant fashion -- scoring a season-high four goals.
Sergi, a graduate of Broad Run High School in Ashburn, netted goals in the 43rd and 45th minute of the match to give Loudoun a 2-0 halftime lead. Sergi has now scored three goals in his first season with the club.
Darluis Paz and Ted Ku-DiPietro scored within a three-minute span of the second half to extend the lead to 4-0. Karl Ouimette netted the lone goal for Indy (6-8-4, 22 pts.) in the 78th minute.
Paz and Robert Dambrot each dished assists for Loudoun. Jermaine Fordah made his 15th start of the season in goal for the Red-and-White.
Next up for Loudoun United is a home match Aug. 23 against the Tampa Bay Rowdies (11-6-1, 34 points).
