The Heritage Pride overcame a 10-point deficit in the final four minutes of regulation to defeat the host Tuscarora Huskies, 70-68, in Dulles District boys' basketball action Wednesday in Leesburg.

With Tuscarora possessing the ball and the game tied in the closing seconds, Heritage sophomore Blake Rorrer intercepted a pass and quickly distributed the ball to senior teammate Max Jannes near midcourt. Jannes continued streaking to the basket and converted a driving layup off the backboard with three seconds left.

Heritage held on for the comeback win after Tuscarora's heave from three-quarters court was off the mark as the buzzer sounded.

After being sidelined for two weeks -- including the opening week of the 2020-2021 season -- due to COVID-19, the Pride (1-1) picked up their first win of the campaign. Jannes paced Heritage with 22 points and sophomore Tyler Smith added 18.

Junior Richard Rogers connected on a program-record eight 3-pointers for the Huskies (1-3). Senior Jack Clark continued to shine for Tuscarora, scoring 20 points.
