The Lightridge Lightning defeated the host Park View Patriots 2-1 in varsity field hockey March 13 to earn their first win in their inaugural season.

Lightridge sent 23 shots on goal during the win and netted both of its goals in the first half.

Freshman Kyla McGillycuddy scored twice for Lightridge, while sophomore Ashlyn Kieschnick dished an assist. Sophomore Kayce Himmelberger netted Park View's goal, with junior June Lee providing the assist.

Lightridge head coach Hillary Drumheller says that she is "beyond proud of the dedication of these girls and the program we are developing at Lightridge."
