Making its debut at Segra Field in Leesburg, Old Glory DC treated the home fans to a 30-23 victory over Rugby ATL in a Major League Rugby game March 27.
Old Glory earned its first win of the 2021 season after playing host NOLA Gold to a 26-26 draw in the opener March 21. Old Glory is tied for second place in the six-team Eastern Conference standings with six points.
Founded in 2018, Old Glory DC joined Major League Ruby in 2019. After playing only exhibition games in its first season, Old Glory was off to a 4-1 start last year when the 2020 season was cancelled in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Old Glory formerly played its home games at Cardinal Stadium in Washington, D.C. The team announced in October that it was moving to Segra Field -- a 5,000-seat complex built in 2019 that serves as home to Loudoun United FC of the United Soccer League -- for the 2021 season.
Old Glory sold out its allotment of tickets (capacity was reduced to 20 percent in accordance with local government and health officials) for the home opener.
