John Paul "JP" Angel, center, is enjoying a strong senior wrestling season for the Potomac Falls Panthers.

Potomac Falls High School senior John Paul "JP" Angel won his 100th career varsity match during a Jan. 21 meet against Freedom.

A team captain, Angel recently won the 138-pound title at the Region 5C tournament and carries an undefeated record into the Virginia Class 5 state tournament.

Angel attended and wrestled at John Champe High School for three years before transferring to Potomac Falls for his senior year. He was an individual champion at the Loudoun County Wrestling Tournament in 2019.

Angel plans to major in zoology or wildlife biology in college, where his top choice is the University of Colorado.
