Loudoun County High School has hired former John Champe assistant coach Matt Reidenbaugh as head coach of the Raiders' football program.

Reidenbaugh spent the previous six seasons working on Champe's staff under head coach Jason Dawson. He began his tenure as Champe's offensive line coach and was promoted to offensive coordinator in 2017.

Champe produced winning seasons in each of Reidenbaugh's six years on staff, with the Knights earning playoff berths in four classifications during that span: Class 3, 4, 5 and 6.

Reidenbaugh tweeted on Thursday night, "Thank you to all the Champe players and families who I’ve been so lucky to work with over the past 6 years. The texts, emails, and messages today have been so humbling. A special thanks to Coach Dawson who constantly believed and invested in me."

Reidenbaugh grew up in Fairfax County where he football at Westfield High School.
