Stone Bridge High School graduate Andrew Vastardis started at center for a Michigan offense that lit up the scoreboard in a 59-18 win over host Maryland on Nov. 20.

Michigan scored a touchdown in each quarter -- highlighted by a 28-point third quarter -- on its way to a 41-point victory. The Wolverines improved to 10-1 overall and 7-1 in Big 10 play, while the Terps slipped to 5-6, 2-6.

Vastardis, a graduate student, began his Wolverine career as a walk-on before earning a scholarship prior to the 2019 season. He has twice been voted a team captain by his teammates and is a four-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree.

A two-time all-state selection, Vastardis earned four varsity letters playing football for head coach Mickey Thompson at Stone Bridge.

Maryland freshman receiver Tai Felton, also a Stone Bridge graduate, caught one pass for three yards in the loss to Michigan.

Michigan will host rival Ohio State (10-1, 8-0) for a pivotal Big 10 showdown on Nov. 27. Maryland will attempt to become bowl eligible with a win at Rutgers on Nov. 27.
