Stone Bridge scored a touchdown on each of its first five possessions and cruised from there to a 42-0 win over Mountain View in the Class 5, Region D football championship game Friday afternoon in Ashburn.
The Bulldogs (12-1) claimed their fifth consecutive regional championship and punched their ticket to the Virginia Class 5 state semifinals.
"I had confidence in our team that we were going to come out and play our best game," Stone Bridge senior Zeke Wimbush said of the regional final win. "We will enjoy the win for one day, and then we are on to the next ... watching film and getting ready for our next game."
Next up for Stone Bridge is a road game at Class 5, Region C champion Highland Springs in the state semifinals on Dec. 3. Highland Springs (13-0) blanked L.C. Bird 35-0 in the regional final.
Senior defensive lineman Micah Smith recorded three tackles for a loss to help lead Stone Bridge to a 42-0 victory over Mountain View.

Stone Bridge and Highland Springs have combined to win six Class 5 state championships in the last seven seasons. Highland Springs claimed four consecutive state crowns from 2015 through 2018, while Stone Bridge won state titles in each of the previous two seasons.
The Bulldogs earned their state semifinal spot in dominant fashion. Stone Bridge outscored its three regional playoff opponents by a combined total of 130-36.
Stone Bridge rushed for more than 200 yards and six touchdowns in the win over Mountain View (11-2). With the Bulldog offensive line paving the way, Troy Marquez, Colton Hinton, Tyson Miller, Jordan Kaiser and Wimbush each eclipsed 25 rushing yards in the balanced effort.
"The ground attack was working," Wimbush said. "We just wanted to pound the ground and be physical, and that's what we did."
Wimbush and Mario Suarez shared quarterback duties for the Bulldogs. The senior duo combined to complete 10 of 13 passes for 139 yards. Myles Turpin (3 catches for 82 yards) and Kaiser (4 for 35) were the top recieving targets.
The Bulldogs were equally as dominant on defense. After forcing a three-and-out on Mountain View's first two possessions, Stone Bridge seniors Deuce Geter and Kyle Galloway intercepted passes to thwart the next two drives.
The stout defense combined with five touchdown runs -- three by Wimbush and one each by Marquez and Miller -- allowed the Bulldogs to build a commanding 33-0 lead with 7:47 left in the second quarter.
Hinton busted free for a 52-yard touchdown run midway through the third quarter and the Bulldogs added a safety early in the fourth quarter to close out the scoring.
Senior Jakob Lawyer also intercepted a pass for Stone Bridge, who recorded eight tackles for a loss. Senior Micah Smith led the Bulldogs with three tackles for a loss while sophomore Jonathan Newton added two.
Stone Bridge will enter the state semifinals on a 12-game playoff win streak. The Bulldogs have won 36 of their last 37 games overall.
The Stone Bridge Bulldogs are regional champions for a fifth consecutive season.
