The Loudoun County Captains, pictured here after the Dulles District tournament, placed first at the 2022 Region 4C golf tournament to earn their second team title of the postseason.
Freedom, Independence and Loudoun County high schools each claimed team championships at their respective regional golf tournaments.
The Freedom Eagles shot a four-player total of 303 to edge Colonial Forge by one stroke for first place at the Region 6B tournament. The Eagles won the Cedar Run District tournament earlier this postseason.
Freedom was led by Nathan Aversano (74), Kaurvaki Bajpai (75), Rishi Sundaresan (77), Andrew Kidder (77), Mark Walsh (79) and Madhav Donepudi (81) at the regional tournament.
The Independence Tigers paced the field by 18 strokes to earn the team championship at the Region 5D golf tournament. Keya Naik (5-under-par 65) of Independence earned low medalist honors.

Neil Kulkarni (74), Sujaan Singh (75), Kapil Ramachandran (80), Byron Millet (80) and Jake Davis (85) helped lead the Tigers to the team crown.
Potomac District champion Riverside (312) finished second in the Region 5D team standings to join Independence (294) as team qualifiers for the state tournament.
The Loudoun County Captains followed up their Dulles District championship by winning the team title at the Region 4C golf tournament. Lightridge golfer Riley Kim (1-over-par 73) claimed low medalist honors.

The Captains shot a team total of 305, three shots better than runner-up Heritage. Nick Alexander (75), Liam Howard (75), Nic Serway (76), Reed Theiss (79), Ethan Browning (83) and Ayla Browning (84) paced Loudoun County.
Loudoun County and Heritage both qualified as teams for the Virginia Class 4 state tournament, set for Stonehenge Golf & Country Club in Richmond.
The Class 5 and Class 6 state tournaments will be contested at Heritage Oaks Golf Course in Harrisonburg. The Class 4 and Class 6 tournaments are scheduled for Oct. 10, with the Class 5 tournament to follow on Oct. 11.
