Boats representing Briar Woods, Riverside and Stone Bridge high schools each placed first in event finals at the 2023 Virginia State Rowing Championships.
The Virginia Scholastic Rowing Association’s annual state competition was held May 6 and May 13 along the Occoquan Reservoir at Sandy Run Regional Park in Fairfax Station.
Briar Woods paced the field in the men’s third four final, Riverside placed first in the men’s novice eight final and Stone Bridge led the way in the women’s third four final.
Broad Run, Independence and Rock Ridge joined Briar Woods, Riverside and Stone Bridge in placing in one or more event finals.
