A total of seven varsity football teams from Loudoun County Public Schools have qualified for the Virginia High School League playoffs.
A pair of undefeated teams -- Stone Bridge (Region 5C) and Tuscarora (Region 4C) -- earned No. 1 seeds for their respective regional tournaments. Both teams will host regional semifinal games April 9 to kick off the postseason.
Briar Woods (5C) and Independence (3B) each earned No. 2 seeds and will also host semifinal games.
Broad Run (4C) and Woodgrove (5C) are both seeded No. 3 in their regions, while Freedom secured the No. 4 seed in Region 5C. All three teams will play regional semifinal games on the road.
The VHSL will crown state champions in all six classifications for the 2020 season (played in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic). Loudoun is represented by playoff teams in Class 3, 4 and 5.
Following two rounds of games, the champion of each region will advance to the state semifinals. The semifinals are scheduled for April 24 and the state finals are set for May 1.
